Abstract:MetaQuotes, the global leader in trading platform development, has officially announced the end of support for outdated versions of MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) effective July 1, 2025.

MetaQuotes, the global leader in trading platform development, has officially announced the end of support for outdated versions of MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) effective July 1, 2025. If your platform isn't updated, you may face complete disconnection from broker servers—a move that impacts traders and brokers worldwide.

Whats Changing?
Beginning July 1, 2025, MetaQuotes will block all desktop terminals running below the following minimum builds:
- MetaTrader 4: Build 1440, released Feb 21, 2025
- MetaTrader 5: Build 4755, released Dec 13, 2024
These are now the minimum supported versions required to maintain broker connectivity and full platform functionality.
Why You MUST Update
According to MetaQuotes, each new release introduces critical performance enhancements, advanced security protocols, and essential bug fixes. Failing to upgrade in time may lead to:
- Terminal connection failures
- Limited or broken features
- Security vulnerabilities
- Total loss of trading access
Pro Tip: Update your terminal early to avoid last-minute trading disruptions or downtime during high market volatility.
What's New in Recent MetaTrader Builds?
MetaTrader has introduced major improvements across its recent updates:
1.MetaTrader 5 Highlights:
- Build 4620: Enhanced OpenBLAS support & tick history fixes
- Build 4730: Platform-wide performance improvements
- Build 4755: Strategy Tester bug fixes & system-level optimizations
2.MetaTrader 4 Focus:
- While no new features are added, Build 1440 includes important security and Market service updates, ensuring continued reliability for millions of traders still using MT4.
Strategic Reasons Behind the Shift
MetaQuotes move to deprecate older builds aligns with its broader vision to support modern, high-performance trading environments. By discontinuing legacy versions, the company can concentrate resources on next-gen innovations, giving traders a safer and more efficient trading experience.

- Check your current build via your platforms Help > About section
- Upgrade to the latest version before July 1, 2025
- Back up your templates, indicators, and custom scripts
- Inform clients or teams if youre operating a multi-user terminal environment
The 2025 MetaTrader update deadline is more than a routine patch, its a major infrastructure shift aimed at future-proofing the trading ecosystem. If you rely on MetaTrader 4 or 5 for your trading or brokerage operations, the time to act is now.
