On August 2, 2024, at 20:30:01-04 seconds Beijing time, all the above transactions were automatically closed when the XAUUSD price surged from around $2456.50 to approximately $2471.30. However, the closing prices of these trades significantly deviated from the preset take profit and stop loss levels: 1. The short position of 0.2 lots closed at $2469.45, resulting in a loss of $246.6, which is $10.45 above the stop loss, causing an additional loss of $209. 2. The long position of 0.5 lots closed at $2466.04, gaining $185, which is $1.96 below the take profit, resulting in $98 less profit. 3. The long position of 0.8 lots closed at $2464.91, gaining just $0.8, which is $4.4 below the take profit, resulting in $352 less profit. In total, this resulted in a loss of $659. When contacting customer service to negotiate a solution, they cited significant market fluctuations as the reason for closing positions at market prices and subsequently stopped responding. Given such market volatility, setting automatic take profit and stop loss levels should be the last line of defense for individuals trading in the market to mitigate risks and protect profits. If even these automated safeguards fail to function correctly, who protects the traders' interests? What use is a broker if they cannot ensure this?
